Burano:

Burano is most known for it's lace making (but much of the lace sold is no longer handmade there) and its very colorful buildings. It was a very neat place to visit. We took a waterbus here, which took about an hour one way, and spent about an hour roaming the island.

Murano Glass Blowers:

We visited a glass blowing company called Vecchia Murano and were treated to a tour and demonstration of a professional blowing glass into a very unique, but beautiful vase. Murano glass is very famous around the world because 1) it is all hand blown, 2) every piece is unique, and 3) the pieces are hand painted, most with 24-carat gold. Here is a movie of the glass blower finishing his project:

NOTE: You must have QuickTime to view these movies.

Hotel Carlton Grand Canal (left) / Local Tour Guide, Corrine (right):

Our hotel, the Carlton Grand Canal, was situated on the Grand Canal, one of the busiest canals in Venice. It was a nice Venetian hotel and very comfortable for our stay in this city.

Our Venice tour guide, Corrine, showed us the Doge's Palace, Basilica of St. Mark, and the Piazza San Marco.
