Dinner at the Borghese Palace:

In the heart of the city of Florence is the Palazzo Borghese. It is a really ancient palace, whose origins date back to the 1400, when it belonged to the Salviati Family. The Borghese family later inherited it during the 19th century. The Borghese family included the sister of Napoleon Bonaparte, who remodeled the palace once she inherited it. The palace has been preserved remarkably well since then.

Today, the Palace hosts different types of banquets and events. We were able to attend a Renaissance Dinner, where we were greeted at the door by red carpet and a palace guard. Once we walked up the grand staircase, Renaissance musicians welcomed us. We walked through many rooms with a lot of golden decorations and ceiling art before we arrived the Monumental Gallery where we had our banquet. It was a very unique way to have dinner. I felt like and was treated like royalty. Renaissance dancers, games, and music entertained us while we ate. It was a fantastic evening.

Hotel Raffaello:
We stayed at the Hotel Raffaello in Florence. We stayed at 4-star hotels in Rome, Florence, and Venice. However, 4-star hotels in Europe are not like 4-star hotels in the United States. In Europe, 4-star means the hotel room has a private bathroom in the room and has air conditioning, stuff we take for granted in the States. The rooms themselves are very small, as you can see, but they are comfortable and clean.
