Giudecca Canal:

The Giudecca Canal is the largest canal in Venice. Even large cruise ships can enter Venice through this canal. This canal was one of the most choppy and harsh canals in Venice. It was not smooth sailing here. We used this canal on the morning of Day Five to take us to the Piazza San Marco to have our organized tour of this square, the Doge's Palace, and the Basilica of San Marco.

Gondola Ride:

The evening we arrived in Venice, we had our first taste of the city. We were treated to an hour-long Gondola ride. Six people can fit in each gondola boat, which I did not know at first. We had six boats following each other through the narrow canals. One of these boats had a singer and a accordion player, so we were serenaded as we glided peacefully through the water.
